Dreaming of taking a short weekend getaway without having to leave the states? There are many iconic cities to visit with Instagram worthy spots, but the first one that comes to mind for me is Miami, Florida which also happens to be my home state.
I booked a last minute flight back home to surprise my mom for her birthday and since I was already there, I decided to become a tourist in my own city by visiting some of my favorite places and taking lots of pictures.
I’ve narrowed all my pics to highlight my top 5 instagrammable places.
Miami Beach is is an iconic city. You see it in movies, music videos and travel shows. There are so many incredible views starting with the tropical palm trees that adorn the city. There are around 36 lifeguard houses spread out across the coastline of Miami Beach and they are all unique and full of color. The pink art deco style buildings are a work of art and you can catch a pretty magnificent view of the Miami Beach skyline from the top of any roof top.
Little Hen is a contemporary breakfast and brunch boutique restaurant located in the Miami Design District. It’s perfect for a girls brunch date because of it’s dainty and feminine aesthetic.
The Berry Farm
The Berry Farm has been a huge part of the Redland Farm community for 60 years. It’s located in Homestead, Florida and it will be around a 40 minute drive if you’re staying in Miami beach. The farm is filled with a sunflower field, a strawberry field, live music, a restaurant and a fresh smoothie bar.
Vizcaya Museum & Gardens
This beautiful 10 acre estate consists of the main house, garden and village. The landscape and architecture was designed by millionaire businessman James Deering with inspiration drawn from the Tuscan Italian Renaissance.
Miami Design District
The Miami Design District is my favorite place to visit every time I fly back home. I love spending my time here because it was designed as a creative neighborhood with high-end shops, design, art, architecture and dining.
