Are you dreaming of taking a short weekend getaway without having to leave the states? There are many iconic cities to visit with Instagram-worthy spots, but the first one that comes to mind is Miami, Florida, which also happens to be my home state.
I booked a last-minute flight back home to surprise my mom for her birthday, and since I was already there, I decided to become a tourist in my city by visiting some of my favorite places and taking lots of pictures.

Miami Beach is an iconic city. You see it in movies, music videos, and travel shows. There are so many incredible views starting with the tropical palm trees that adorn the city. There are around 36 lifeguard houses spread out across the coastline of Miami Beach, and they are all unique and full of color. The pink art deco-style buildings are a work of art, and you can catch a pretty magnificent view of the Miami Beach skyline from the top of any rooftop.
Little Hen is a contemporary breakfast and brunch boutique restaurant located in the Miami Design District. It’s perfect for a girls’ brunch date because of its delicate and feminine aesthetic.
The Berry Farm
The Berry Farm has been a significant landmark of the Redland Farm community in Homestead, Florida, for 60 years. Only a 40-minute drive from Miami Beach, the farm has a sunflower field, a strawberry field, live music, a restaurant, and a fresh smoothie bar.
Vizcaya Museum & Gardens
This beautiful 10-acre estate consists of the main house, garden, and village. Millionaire businessman James Deering designed the landscape and architecture with inspiration drawn from the Tuscan Italian Renaissance.
